Come Search Theme and Deviation

In our continuing struggle to provide superfluous functions, here we have the search feature. Useful for those of you who wish to know if we've played your favourite band, you need just tap in the name of an artist, song, or album, and behold.

Like all things, the search function is not without its problems. Vagueness, for one -- say you type in Elliot Smith, the search engine will find said artist for you, but will also find Patti Smith, The Smiths, Missy Elliot, etc. Treat this as a challenge. Try to outwit it with your sheer specificity.

Furthermore, the search engine is sensitive to circumflex, tilde, breve, acute, grave, and such things. That is, if you search for 'Bjork', you'll find little; if you search for 'Björk', you'll find much. The same applies for Sigur Rós, µ-Ziq, þorkell Sigurbjörnsson, etc. Sorry if this makes things incovenient. It can't be helped.

Also, the 'database' covers only the post-theme period of Theme and Deviation. Some day perhaps it will expand.

And finally, the search is provided by "Bravenet", and as is their wont, there will be some aesthetically painful banners on the Search Results page. We can't do anything about them. Remember the advice of Mr. Paul Anka: Just Don't Look.
